Career Technical Education

Southwest Education Partnerships for Training (SWEPT) has partnered with CNM Ingenuity to provide Career and Technical Education (CTE) training to Albuquerque’s South Valley. This CTE training opportunity is designed to provide and equip participants with essential skills, certifications, and entrepreneurial and trade training to students and parents, fostering a culture of empowerment within families. By offering English language support for Spanish-speaking learners, the training program ensures that all participants can fully engage and benefit from the program.

What training is included?

Entrepreneurship
Aims to empower learners with the skills and mindset necessary to thrive in the business world. The training includes five modules.

  • Fostering an Entrepreneurial/Growth Mindset
  • Effective Communication and Outcomes
  • Purpose and Goal Setting
  • Personal Finance
  • Creating a Business Plan

English Language and  Communication/Professional Skills Training
Designed to equip learners with essential business and professional skills to succeed in their careers. The training included 6 modules designed to enhance key soft skills necessary for personal and professional growth.

  • Effective Writing
  • Goal Setting
  • Presentation Skills
  • Customer Service
  • Interviewing

Pathway to the Trades
Designed to empower participants with the skills needed to enter the trades workforce or continue with further specialized training.

Includes:
Skill Development-Will equip participants with fundamental skills in key trades, including Electrical, HVAC, Carpentry, and Plumbing.

Career Readiness-Will prepare participants for the workforce with the essential job safety training, including OSHA 10, Lockout/Tagout, and CPR/First Aid certifications.Communication

Will I get support after the training is completed?

Participants will receive a follow up with a Career Coach

Entrepreneurship:  Monday – Thursday, January 13 – January 29, 2025, 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Communication/Professional Skills Training, Basic Computer Skills, Trades Skills Development and Career Readiness: Dates and times are TBD

The training will be held at RFK Charter School, 4300 Blake Rd. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121

Pathways to the Trades for Adult Learners

Program Objectives:

    • OSHA 10 Certification (10 hours)
    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Training (2 hours)
    • CPR/First Aid Certification (6 hours)
  2. Technical Skills Training
    • Electrical Certification (12 hours)
    • HVAC Certification (12 hours)
    • Carpentry Certification (12 hours)
    • Plumbing Certification (12 hours)
